Join us as Compliance Officer. As a member of the Legal Team, you will ensure that the company’s activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards. You will implement and oversee compliance programs to reduce legal and regulatory risks and provide daily support to teams across the organization.
As part of this journey, you will support both Starion Group and Nexova Group, two sister companies that are managed centrally under one leadership and corporate service teams. While you will be hired by the Nexova Group entity, you will directly contribute to the activities of both companies, giving you the opportunity to be based in either one of our offices in Belgium (Diegem, Wavre or Libin).
Tasks and Activities
The scope of work will include:
- Developing, implementing, and updating internal compliance policies (code of conduct, anti-bribery, anti-money laundering etc.).
- Supporting relevant teams in relation to data protection and cybersecurity compliance (e.g., GDPR, NIS2 etc.).
- Monitoring regulatory developments and ensuring the company remains compliant with applicable legal requirements.
- Training and raising awareness among employees about compliance principles and obligations.
- Identifying and assess compliance risks in internal processes and third-party relationships (conflict of interest, gift policy etc).
- Conducting internal audits and regular controls to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Helping operational teams (operations, procurement, sales, HR) on legal and ethical issues relevant to their activities.
- Managing alerts and reports of non-compliance, investigating issues, and recommending corrective measures.
- Preparing compliance reports for management and, where necessary, for regulatory authorities.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the compliance program by adapting tools and procedures as needed.
- Ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive information related to compliance activities.
Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Finance, Law, Business Administration or a relevant field.
- Proven experience in related fields.
- Thorough knowledge of the industry standards, laws and regulations in Belgium and other European countries.
- Demonstrable experience in compliance and risk management.
- Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
- Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
- Fluent in English, French and Dutch, both written and spoken.
