Join us as a Legal Counsel. In this role, you will provide legal advice and support across institutional and commercial contracts, as well as corporate and regulatory matters. You will work alongside legally trained colleagues and, when necessary, external counsel. As a generalist, you should possess broad experience in handling diverse commercial legal issues, demonstrate sound judgment in prioritizing matters, and adapt quickly to emerging legal challenges.
As part of this journey, you will support both Starion Group and Nexova Group, two sister companies that are managed centrally under one leadership and corporate service teams. While you will be hired by the Nexova Group entity, you will directly contribute to the activities of both companies, giving you the opportunity to be based in either one of our offices in Belgium (Diegem, Wavre or Libin).
Tasks and Activities
The scope of work will include:
- Providing in-house legal support to internal stakeholders on legal matters.
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and other legal documents with institutional and commercial customers (such as teaming agreements, subcontractor agreements, license agreements, LOI, MoU, NDA, etc.).
- Participating in the bid process, review the associated legal documents, and provide comments and questions to the Bid Manager.
- Providing advice on corporate, regulatory, property, governance and procurement matters.
- Creating, maintaining, organizing and managing appropriately all files regarding ongoing matters.
- Participating in Legal & Contracts Department projects and tasks.
- Contribute to the standardisation of legal documentation (agreements, general terms and conditions, contract database, etc.).
Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- University Degree or equivalent in Law or a relevant field.
- At least 3 years proven experience in a law firm, EU institution or a multinational company (ideally active in the Space sector).
- Highly organized and detail and results-oriented attitude.
- Ability to identify and mitigate legal risks and develop workable business solutions
- Ability to take direction and work independently with little (or no) supervision.
- Strong ethics and teamwork skills.
- Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
- Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
- Fluent in French/Dutch and English, both written and spoken. Proficiency in any additional language is an asset.
